About Me

My Name is Natalie Hole, practicing speech therapist, accent reduction consultant and owner of Roots Speech. It is my goal to help provide you and your family with the appropriate services and/or resources so that you may reach your speech and language goals, whatever they may be.

I am a Sonoma County native, who moved to Los Angeles to attend California State University, Northridge where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders. During my undergraduate program, I spent 2 years working as a behavioral therapist and developed a passion for working with children. I went on to earn my Master of Science degrees in Communicative Disorders, graduating in December of 2010 and gained experience working in several different settings along the way that included: The Early Intervention Center at California State University, Northridge, an out-patient Traumatic Brain Injury facility, and a public elementary school. I then returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and joined a team of speech therapist at a pediatric private clinic. In 2012, I decided that I would prefer to work in patients’ homes so that I could support and nurture their language skills in their natural environments. I felt passionate about working closely with parents, siblings, teachers and health professionals, to determine the most effective way to enhance each child’s speech and language learning.

That’s when a colleague and I started our own private practice servicing families all over the bay area peninsula for seven rewarding years. In early 2020, my husband and I decided that it was time to come back to my hometown in Sonoma County so that we could be closer to our families. That’s when I started Roots Speech.

I have worked with a wide range of ages and an eclectic array of communication disorders including: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, articulation disorders, hearing impairment, Apraxia, Dysarthria, expressive and receptive language delays, fluency, social and pragmatic difficulties, and global developmental delays. I believe therapy should be fun and am dedicated to finding the right tools and activities to keep children motivated and engaged.
